How do I reach my host before check-in?

Write to your host in Messages

Your conversations with hosts are in Messages. To start one, press Message followed by the host's name on your booking page, or on your trip in Trips. You need to be signed in.

If you booked without an account

You can book without an account, but Messages needs one. Sign in, or create an account, with the same e-mail you booked with. Once your e-mail address is confirmed, your booking is attached to your account. Your trip then shows in Trips, and your conversation with the host shows in Messages.

What you can send

Messages are text only, up to 2000 characters each. You can't send photos or files.

If a message waits unread for about 10 minutes, we e-mail you about it. You get at most one of these e-mails an hour for each conversation. The e-mail has a Reply on Spitio button that takes you back to the conversation.

Phone numbers and e-mails

Until your booking is confirmed, phone numbers, e-mail addresses and links in messages are hidden automatically. Once it is confirmed, the For your stay panel beside the conversation shows the exact address, the host's phone and the host's e-mail. Why contact details are hidden explains how this works.
