Blocking dates on your calendar

Aktualisiert: 27. September 2026 · Lesezeit 1 Min.

If you're staying in the home yourself, doing repairs or taking a break, you can block the nights so no guest can book them.

Block nights

  1. Go to Host → Calendar. If you have more than one home, pick it at the top.
  2. Click a day, or drag across several. You can also click a first and a last day.
  3. Add a Note if you like (only you see it) and press Block this night (or Block these nights).

You can block up to a year at a time. Dates that have already passed can't be blocked.

Open them again

Select the blocked days and press Open again. You can open part of a block too: the days you didn't select stay blocked.

What blocking does

Blocked nights close on Spitio, so guests can't pick them. They also close in the calendar link you send to Airbnb or Booking.com, where they show as "Not available (Spitio)". Those platforms read the link every few hours. See Connecting Airbnb and Booking.com calendars (iCal).

Reading the calendar

The legend under the calendar explains what you see:

  • Booked on Spitio: a blue bar with the guest's name, from check-in to check-out. Click it to open the reservation.
  • Booked on another site (synced): a grey bar with the name of the calendar it came from
  • Blocked by you: a night you blocked, shown striped with a lock
  • Open: a night guests can book, with its price in grey for reference

Prices are changed in Host → Pricing, not here.

If instant booking is on, keep your calendar up to date: a guest can book any night that shows as free.
