Hosthub questions and problems

Is my API key safe?

Yes. Spitio stores it encrypted and only uses it to talk to Hosthub. After you connect, the card shows only its last four characters. To use another key, press Disconnect and connect again with the new one. Connecting with a new key starts over, so you link your rentals again.

Do I still need iCal links?

No, except one. A linked home needs no Hosthub calendar on Spitio: remove it from the home's Calendar page, or the same booking appears twice; Spitio reminds you on the Hosthub card while it still sees one. In Hosthub, you can keep Spitio's calendar link: it only lists what Spitio hasn't sent yet, so nothing shows twice.

My rental has several units

You can link a rental with several units in Hosthub, but Spitio can't work with it yet: its dates aren't imported, its prices aren't used and nothing is sent to it. The card says so under the rental.

Messages on the Hosthub card

• "Hosthub did not accept this API key." The key is wrong, or was deleted in Hosthub. Syncing stops until you fix it: disconnect and connect again with a new key.
• "Hosthub asked us to slow down", "Hosthub could not be reached" or "Hosthub is not answering properly right now." A short problem on Hosthub's side. Spitio keeps your last known dates and tries again by itself.
• "This rental is no longer in your Hosthub account." The rental was removed in Hosthub. Its last known dates stay closed until you set it to Not linked.
• "The saved Hosthub key can't be read any more." Disconnect and connect again.
• Not imported from Hosthub: … Settings in Hosthub that Spitio doesn't copy. See Use Hosthub prices.

A message ending in (code: …) names the part that failed. If it doesn't go away within an hour, send us the code.

What does unlinking or disconnecting do?

• Not linked on one rental: Spitio removes from Hosthub what it had sent for that home, removes the imported dates from your Spitio calendar, and the home goes back to its Spitio prices.
• Disconnect: the same for every rental, and the key is deleted.

Your homes, the days you blocked yourself and your Spitio prices are kept as they were.
