How do I cancel my stay and how much do I get back?

Updated 25 September 2026 · 1 min read

Where to cancel

  • On your booking page, press Cancel stay, or Cancel request if the host hasn't answered yet. The link is in your booking e-mail, so you don't need an account.
  • Or open Trips and press Cancel stay or Cancel request on the upcoming trip.

What you see before you confirm

A window asks "Cancel your stay?". It shows the home, your dates, your rate and today's date, then three lines: You paid, the Refund percentage, and You get back. It also tells you where the money goes, for example to your card and its last four digits.

You can pick a reason if you like: Change of plans, Illness, Found another place or Other.

Then press Cancel · get followed by the amount, for example Cancel · get €662.50. If there is nothing to get back, the button simply reads Cancel stay. Or press Keep my stay to leave everything as it is.

How much you get back

Refundable, until 23:59 Greek time, 7 days before check-in100% of what you paid.
Refundable, from then until the check-in time50% of what you paid.
Non-refundable, any timeNo refund.

If you cancel a request the host hasn't accepted yet, nothing has been charged. The same goes for a confirmed stay you were due to pay by card on Spitio and haven't paid yet: there is nothing to refund. The full rules are in Refundable or non-refundable.

After you cancel

You and the host both get an e-mail, and the nights go back on the host's calendar. To see when the money arrives, read When will I get my refund?

After the check-in time, a stay can't be cancelled on the site. See Cancelling after check-in.
