Allowing pets

Ενημέρωση 26 Σεπτεμβρίου 2026 · 2 λεπτά ανάγνωσης

Every listing answers one question about pets. You'll find it in the listing wizard's House rules step, and in the same place when you edit a home.

Yes or no

Pick Yes, pets are welcome or No pets. If you choose yes, fill in:

  • Maximum pets: from 1 to 5, all kinds together.
  • Which pets: dogs, cats and/or other. Pick at least one.
  • Pet fee (optional): a one-time amount per stay, whatever the number of pets. Leave it at 0 for free.
  • Note for guests (optional): for example "Garden is fenced. Please keep pets off the sofas." Phone numbers and e-mail addresses are hidden, as everywhere on a listing.

What guests see

Your listing's House rules shows one line, such as "Pets allowed · up to 2 · dogs and cats · €20 pet fee per stay", with your note under it. If you chose no, it says "No pets".

In the booking box, guests can add pets up to your maximum. If you don't allow pets, the pet counter is switched off. When a guest brings at least one pet, the pet fee is added to the price breakdown and the total. Your VAT and city tax apply to it as they do to the cleaning fee.

Search and categories

The Pet-friendly category is set from your answer, so you can't tick it by hand and it never disagrees with your listing. Guests who search with pets only see homes that allow pets and take at least that many.

Refunds and changes

The pet fee is part of the total the guest pays, so the cancellation rules apply to it like the rest of the total. If a guest changes a booking to bring a pet, or to leave all pets at home, the pet fee is added or taken off in the new total.

Homes that were already listed as Pet-friendly start as "pets allowed, up to 1 pet, dogs and cats, no pet fee". Check the answer in Edit and adjust it to what you really allow.
